Ingrid Pitt (1937-2010) was born Ingoushka Petrov in Warsaw, Poland, to a Polish father of Russian descent and a Polish Jewish mother. During World War II, her and her family were imprisoned in a concentration camp.
Her natural hair color was brown.
She appeared in two Hammer films, playing the vampire Mircalla Karnstein in The vampire lovers (1970) and blood bathing serial killer Countess Bathory in Countess Dracula (1970). These films gave her a cult reputation.
